I struggled through school

"I struggled through school. Frustrated and angry with my poor vision, I had explosive outbursts. As this frustration grew, I sank deeper into loneliness and despair and alienated those who were closest to me. My struggles in school caused pain, confusion, and frustration for my family. With so many ups and downs, I didn’t understand that bipolar disorder was slowly taking over and interfering with my life. No one ever told me that I had a problem." Later in life after I was diagnosed Bipolar disorder, I learned from my current Psychiatrist that I am actually a victim of Borderline Personality disorder. It is similar to Bipolar disorder. My situation is much more lessened the older I have become. All people experience a degree of emotional turmoil from time to time. For people with BPD, there is a pattern of ongoing instability and maintaining relationships that affects functioning of daily activities of living. Although the symptoms may persist throughout a person's lifetime, the high risk behavior and instability of maintaining relationships may lessen in their mid life, while vocational functioning tends to improve.
