Prayer is a line of communication
Prayer is a line of communication. One of the keys to finding guidance in my life was taking charge of my own growth and being responsible for my health. I am learning how to listen to the universe through prayer. Praying has become my way of finding guidance. Prayer is the process of talking to the universe through God.
If I ask for guidance, I need to listen for the answer. When facing a tough situation, it’s important to guard against panicking or reacting emotionally without sound judgment. Instead, I pray, and I remind myself to stay calm and use my head to think before acting.
Whatever you are going through, never be overwhelmed. Remember, God can handle anything. The brain—and what you think, whether out of stress or out of calm—affects the body through neuropeptides, neurotransmitters, hormones, and the sympathetic nervous system. So, take a deep breath and see yourself as what you want to be. Then become that. You can if you think you can.
“I can do all things through God who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13, RSV). Faith is more powerful than fear. Most everything in our lives starts with a thought. We attract positive people with our positive thoughts and negative people with our negative thoughts. In the words of Carolyn Myss, “Our thoughts and intentions are expressions of energy that move at the speed of light. From a mystical perspective, this light of energy that is the counterpart of matter, is not just conscious energy but also an expression of sacred itself. It is the manifestation of a divine life force that enlivens all of creation.”[1]
Prayer is nourishment for the body, mind, and spirit. It is vitally important in helping us when we are faced with illness, injury or other life challenges. Through prayer, we cannot only change ourselves, but also the world. When two or more come together in God’s name, prayers are heard and answered. That’s why going to church matters so much—we’re stronger when we pray together. Read more in 'Opening the Envelope, A journey of Hope' found on Amazon.
