Recuperating in the hospital
I have been recuperating in the hospital from a serious bout of dehydration. Have been sick with a viscous virus for a couple of weeks as though there was nothing wrong with me until two weeks later I woke with no voice.
I forced myself to eat a little breakfast, and then the vomiting began and didn’t stop until I had the dry heaves. My husband came home to care for me, and wanted me to see the doctor. By this time I was unable to get myself up to ride in the car.
However, I knew I had no choice but to go when I had dry heaves and severe cramps. We went to my doctor’s office without an appointment, and when getting out of the car I nearly fell to the pavement. Luckily, my husband caught me.
Once I regained my composure, he practically carried me into the doctor’s office. The office staff saw my condition, ordered a wheel chair and put me in a room where I saw my doctor immediately.
It was a blessing that we went to the doctor’s office, rather than the ER so I could be admitted to the hospital immediately. Sometimes bad things happen in order for good things to happen.
At the hospital, I received excellent care. I have great admiration and appreciation for all care givers and health care workers. They were all an extremely compassionate and empathetic staff. The last day I was in the hospital, I met an interesting nurse who told me that she and her husband were trying to get pregnant. I told her of my book, ‘Opening The Envelope” was written for the purpose of helping people like herself, and in hope of reaching out to people who know of someone in a coma. I met wonderful people through this experience and have thanked God for all their help. God is so good!
My nurse told me of a story of the doctor helping her and I was amazed. My endocrinologist had just told me about this doctor, and that he is affiliated with an organization who does faith based healing.
I have learned to take baby steps to achieve my goals. This is giving me hope now. Maybe my virus happened for a reason.
I not only met wonderful people, but also sold one of books to someone in need. I told her I would like to adopt her!
