My wonderful family
I have been thinking about how blessed my sisters - Karen, Carol, Corrie, and I are to come from such a wonderful family. We have had the continued support, care and concern, as well as wonderful genes to live a happy and abundant life. I realize this even more after having an in depth conversation with my dad's cousin Evelyn Cummins Wingard today. She is 99 years old and has lived the longest of all her relatives. We were blessed with a wonderful heritage of industriousness, faithfulness, and love of community. Even our parents’ friendships had a longevity that we often don’t experience today because people are more likely to move away from home and grow apart from their family roots. Yet, our ancestors have a powerful impact on our lives spiritually, morally, emotionally, and physically. Our heritage is an extension of who we are and what we will become if we stay connected to our roots.
