A Rainy Day
Well today was a wash out, raining hard, not so hard, bringing with it freezing rain sometimes. It lasted all day. My head and neck hurt off and on all day. This is Mr. Arthritis knocking on my door. My sinuses bothered me too. Although I refuse to let those things bring me down. At least I have access to my essential oils, magnesium cream, Sacro Wedgy, Still Point Inducer, and Acu Force for my comfort. I have been using a Capsaicin patch when I experience severe pain and am not in proximity from my props that release me from pain. The last time I used it was yesterday. It must be in my system enough that the weather didn't bother me as much today.
I thought I finished a painting yesterday until I looked at it today. This afternoon, after I finished working on my Monday afternoon client, I made chocolate chip zucchini bread. The recipe is my Grandma Shellenberger's. I seldom follow a recipe. I delete and add to them. This time, I added chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. It was delicious with our soup tonight. This brings me to Dr. Kachmann's TV show with me. He asked me to be on his cooking show. They call it the Rudy and Cali Cooking show. We are trying to educate people in how to eat healthy in eliminating sugar. I usually reduce the sugar in recipes that call for sugar. While I am doing these shows with Dr. Kachmann, it makes me more aware of the correct way to eat. Do you know if sugar is one of the first 3 ingredients listed, it is considered a dessert? I have been making green smoothies for breakfast. Today, I made a chocolate green smoothie. You are supposed to use spinach. Since I didn't have any, I used Swiss chard and a little kale to make 3 cups. I took the leaves off the stems after I cleaned them and rolled them tight. I sliced them with the down and through motion. And then I finely cut that in a fan like motion. Then I used 2 tablespoons of organic cocoa, 2 bananas, 4 dates, and 1 1/4 cup of water. Mixed everything in my Ninja blender. It was so delicious and filling, I wasn't hungry till lunch time. I think part of the reason I don't hurt as much lately is cause of my new diet, eating healthy. I am so very grateful for my friendship with Dr. Kachmann and his executive coordinator who is my publisher.
